American Express Travelers Cheques are available at your nearest FirstBank Southwest location.

American Express Travelers Cheques are recognized worldwide.  In the U.S. they can be used like cash at retail locations, hotels and restaurants.  Outside the U.S. they can be used as cash at many locations, or exchanged for legal currency at banks, currency exchanges, and American Express Travel Service locations.

If lost or stolen they are refundable usually within 24 hours.  Plus they provide you the peace of mind knowing that behind every Cheque is someone who can help in a travel cash emergency, 24/7.

Also available – Cheques for Two

Cheques for Two have a convenient dual signature feature allowing either of you to purchase or use them.  So one can go sightseeing while the other relaxes.

All funds in a “noninterest-bearing transaction account” are insured in full by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation from December 31, 2010, through December 31, 2012.  This temporary unlimited coverage is in addition to, and separate from, the coverage of at least $250,000 available to depositors under the FDIC’s general deposit insurance rules.

The term “noninterest-bearing transaction account” includes a traditional checking account or demand deposit account on which the insured depository institution pays no interest.  It does not include other accounts, such as traditional checking or demand deposit account that may earn interest, NOW accounts, money-market deposit accounts, and Interest on Lawyers Trust Accounts (“IOLTAs”).

For more information about temporary FDIC coverage of transaction accounts, visit www.fdic.gov.
